Bauchi Gov for Ibercup in Portugal
Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar may this summer grace one of the world’s number one youth soccer tourney, the Ibercup in Portugal.
Organisers of the tournament have already invited the governor as a special guest during a gala nite where patrons of clubs that have participated in the tournament would be honoured.
According to Mr Godson Ekadi of Serahana Sports, the outfit that has facilitated the participation of African teams in the competition, Ibercup organisers are eagerly waiting to see the Bauchi governor accept his invitation.
“We are in touch with Bauchi State government officials and we understand the governor being a lover of youths and football would honor the invitation. Bauchi State youth soccer team has featured in the competition and the governor deserves the honor to be bestowed on him in Portugal,” Ekadi said.
It would be noted that Serahana sports Company has over the years facilitated the participation of prominent Nigerian teams like COD United Academy, Emmanuel Amunike Soccer Academy, and the Bauchi State Youth Soccer Team, including the Lusaka Youth Soccer Academy from Zambia, Centre de Formation Volcan Junior Academy and Napoli FC both from the Ivory Coast in previous editions of the Ibercup in Estoril Portugal, Spain Youth Soccer Challenge in Barcelona, and the Paris World Cup in Paris France.
Ekadi stressed that Serahana Sports Company shall continue to contribute to the growth and development of the youth in Africa through sports.
“We have helped to create the enabling environment abroad for African youths to participate in international soccer tournaments where they have engaged youth teams of some of the best clubs in Europe at very affordable cost.
The skills and confidence gained through participating in our tournaments abroad have led to the discovery of players like Kelechi Nwakali MVP in the FIFA U-17 World CUP in Chile 2015, Benedict Chepeshi and Kapembwa Musonda currently in the Zambian U-23 national team, and recently Solomon Sakala captain of the Zambian winning U-20 team in the CAF U-20 AFCON 2017 with fellow team mate Edward Tembo.”
Ekadi disclosed that Serahana would this year be presenting Lizzy FC Ghana the academy of the Legendary Ghanaian born French former national team captain Marcel Desailly and COD United FC Nigeria in the Ibercup in Barcelona, along with Napoli FC from Ivory Coast and United Boys FC of Bauchi Nigeria in Ibercup Estoril Portugal, including the Lusaka Youth Soccer Academy Zambia in the Paris World Cup.
Team manager of the Bauchi youth team, Justice Idris Shall said they are already looking forward to the Ibercup adding: “Our prayer is for His Excellency Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar to accept the invitation from Portugal and find time within his very busy schedule to approve and possibly attend the tournament this summer.”
