Secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, (NANNM) Chapter, Comrade Usman Abubakar Isa, said nurses at the tertiary health institution resolved to end their two-month old uniform allowance protest, adding that “the hospital management has shown commitment to live up to its responsibility.

“Since nurses have compassion, we resolved not to down tools. Rather, we resorted to go on a protest by appearing at our duty posts in mufti, pending when the management will pay us our uniform allowance from 2015 to date.

“The management has however, paid each of our members twenty thousand naira, in two instalment of ten thousand each, at the end of February and March, an equivalent to a year uniform allowance.

“With pleas from several quarters that the management will continue in this trend to off-set‎ the remaining allowance, we decided to end our protest,” Comrade Isa stated.
