With plantain, bread and beans i’m satisfied – Adebayo Adegbe, CEO, Modela Couture

Adebayo Adegbe is the Project Co-ordinator for Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN). His label, Modela Couture is into all aspects of fashion designing but most especially couture. Also, he’s known for model management. He spoke about his favourites recently.

What’s your favourite food?
I’ve always loved plantains since I was younger. It’s either plantains and beans or bread, but plantains and beans are my best dishes. When I was getting married, I told my wife that she’s a lucky woman, even if she couldn’t cook anything, she should just make sure there is bread at home or plantain and beans and I’m satisfied.

Favourite colour?
Gold and brown. Earth tone colours are more for me. I’m more at home with earth tones. Most of my collections portray that. I love animal colors; you can trust that most Lion colours are in gold and dark brown. Most of my collections are earth tone.

Favourite holiday spot?
They are too many. I prefer spending my holidays in Africa, because you could be working and you are still holidaying. You see a lot of natural things, you see a lot of people who are down to earth and you are able to stay comfortably and happy with them.

Favourite weather?
Rainy season is my best weather. I can work in the rain and get soaked. The sun is hot and everybody is sweating but during the rainy season everybody is calm.

Favourite car?
Honda. It doesn’t guzzle too much fuel.

Favourite leader?
A leader that is selfless, like FADAN President, Mrs. Funmi Ajila-Ladipo. She is my favourirte leader. She wants good things for the association. She can call you late in the night and tell you that “Tomorrow morning we are going to see the president of Nigeria; we need to see them to do something for FADAN.” She’s passionate about FADAN. She wants everybody to move. When she’s moving and you are not moving then she calls someone else. She wants people who have action and who want to work.

Favourite book?
I like all Barbara Cartland novels because her stories always end happily after.

Favourite sports?
I like athletics and aerobics as well as football.
