2 ministers get portfolios
• As Osinbajo swears-in 15 perm secs

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has finally assigned portfolios to the two ministers who were sworn-in three weeks ago after being confirmed by the National Assembly in May this year.
Stephen Ocheni is to resume as Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Productivity as he replaces James Ocholi from Kogi State who died, in an auto accident in 2016.
Suleiman Hassan, who was appointed to fill the Gombe State slot will resume as Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing.
Osinbajo also swore in 15 Permanent Secretaries to fill the vacancies created in the agencies of government.
The permanent secretaries are: Ehuria Georgina Ekeoma (Abia) for the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Akpan Edet Sunday (Akwa Ibom), Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. Akpan, according to the Acting President will, however, resume on October 1. Also sworn-in are Anagbogu Ifeoma Nkiruka ((Anambra), Ministry of Women Affairs and Walson-Jack Diiarau Didi Esther (Bayelsa), posted to the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation;
Gekpe George Isu (Cross River), Ministry of Information and Culture; Aliboh Leon Lawrence (Delta), Ministry of Budget and National Planning; Uwaifo Osarenona Clement (Edo), Ministry of Health; Folayan Ayodele Olaniyi (Ekiti), Office of the Head of Service of the Federation; Abdullahi Abdulazeez Mashi (Katsina), Ministry of Communications and Adebiyi Bolaji Adekunle (Lagos), Ministry of Labour and Productivity.
Others are Ibrahim Musa Wen (Nasarawa), Ministry of Water Resources; Odewale Samson Olajide (Ogun), posted to the Head of Service of the Federation; Adesola Olusade (Ondo), Ministry of Youths and Sports; Umar Mohammed Bello (Sokoto), Office of the Secretary to the Federation and Gabriel Tanimu (FCT), posted to the Office of the Secretary to the Federation.
The remaining of the seven permanent secretaries appointed last week, will resume when their colleagues from their states currently in service retire.
Osinbajo, in his remarks, commended the rigorous process that produced the Permanent Secretaries and tasked them on implementation of Executive Orders and reform of the public finance system. “Your coming into office at this time is a good signal; and I believe very strongly that it will be an opportunity for a reset in some cases of projects and programmes that, up till now, may not have been fully implemented.
“It is your responsibilities as Permanent Secretaries, especially these new corp of Permanent Secretaries chosen and selected on merit to ensure that you carry out, to fullest, all of the anti-corruption programmes of this government. And to ensure also that in your practice and in your conduct that you are also above board.”
