Anambra guber: ….As Uba denies tampering with delegates’ list

From Aloysius Attah, Onitsha

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  Andy Uba debunked allegations that he changed the names of party delegates and replaced them with some of his supporters.

Addressing a group supporters and ward coordinators yesterday at Uga, his hometown, Uba who is also a Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly described the allegations as the ‘mischievous antics’ of those afraid of his shadow.

He said: “Instead of changing the names of APC delegates, I have rather made concerted efforts to eliminate all irregularities to ensure that the right things are done.  I think those behind the allegations are the ones responsible for such acts. All I have been fighting for is the interest of my people.”

He said he is not in the governorship race for his own personal interest but for the good of the state.

He said: “This is not my race alone, it is a sincere race for the good of Anambra state and if APC wins this election, it will mean victory for the people and the beginning of freedom from poor health system, suffering, hunger, unemployment and the marginalisation of the state. For me, this is a partnership with the people and I believe that together, we can make it work”.

Speaking at the event, a former member House of Representatives, Gozie Akpokoba, stated that among all the other aspirants, Uba was the only capable hand to not just win the primaries but also win for the party.

A youth leader, Ezennia Nweke,  assured Uba that he had the support of many youths in the state and assured him of victory in the polls.
