Aguero facing police investigation
Police have taken a statement from a steward who alleges that Sergio Aguero hit them during the goal celebrations at the end of Bournemouth’s defeat to Manchester City.
Aguero was part of a group of City players who ran over to celebrate Raheem Sterling’s match winning goal with their travelling contingent in the East Stand.
Sportsmail understands that footage exists of the incident and that the Vitality Stadium steward reported it after the match.
A City source insisted they had seen footage of the alleged incident and claim that Aguero will not have a case to answer.
Sterling was sent off for a second yellow card for jumping into City’s supporters as a skirmish broke out in that corner of the ground.
Emotions were running high after Pep Guardiola’s side scored a second goal, having fallen behind to Charlie Daniels’s first-half strike, in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
The fourth official had indicated five minutes of added time and referee Mike Dean was booed around the stadium by Bournemouth’s supporters for allowing more.
